Yellowknife Coded

Resident Questionnaire: Aquatics

Opened in 1988, the Ruth Inch Memorial Pool (RIMP) has been a key component of the sport and recreation landscape of Yellowknife.  RIMP has reached the nominal end of it useful lifespan.  The increased demands of Yellowknife’s growing population and developing user groups have outgrown the capacity of RIMP.

The City of Yellowknife is identifying and gathering funding, including $ 12.9 M of Federal support from the Government of Canada Small Communities Infrastructure Fund to develop a new Aquatic Centre.  As a first step, Council has engaged the Consulting team of Stantec with RC Strategies+PERC and Carscadden Architects to study and plan the development and design of this facility over the coming months.  The team has developed a survey to gather information from Yellowknife residents to help inform this study and guide thinking on concepts appropriate for a new facility.
