Instructions to Institutions and University Programs wishing to support a fellowship:
- 1-2 pages
- Should include outline of clinics and clinical exposure available to the resident
- Must show how research of 20-30% of fellows time over the year is committed to research (1-1.5 days per week) and will be supported and relevant
- Highlight/Outline strengths and weaknesses and why resident should consider your program
- Programs are encouraged to have a broad exposure to advance expertise in Spasticity
Examples of broad exposure include but not limited to:
Pathophysiology and anatomy, clinical practice in assessment and management, exposure to chemodenervation (toxin, phenol), pharmacology, surgery, intrathecal baclofen, EMG, US, Neurosurgical management of tone and pain, bracing, outcome measures, and the role of chemodenervation in movement disorders.
Research is not just encouraged but expected with a minimum of 20-30% (1 day /week) of the fellows time with a focus on tone related impairment and spasticity.
